Classics Reunion 2011

Brasenose Members are cordially invited to attend a Classics Reunion on Saturday 2^nd April 2011.  This is a wonderful opportunity for Old Members to return to College, catch up with old friends, and meet the College’s current classicists. This year we will also be remembering Leighton Reynolds, Official Fellow in Greek and Latin Literature from 1957 -1997, whom many of you will recall with affection.

We will begin the evening at 4.30 pm with coffee and a welcome from Dr Ed Bispham (Fellow in Ancient History) and Dr Llewelyn Morgan (Fellow in Classics).  This will be followed at 5. 00 pm by two talks: Dr Damian Robinson (Lecturer in Roman Archaeology & Director of the Oxford Centre for Maritime Archaeology) on ‘Sunken Treasure? The Maritime Archaeology Revolution at Oxford’, and Ms Christa Gray (Lecturer in Classical Literature) on 'Christian creepy crawlies: ants and monks in St Jerome's Vita Malchi’.  There will be pre-dinner drinks at 6.30 pm, followed by dinner in Hall at 7.30 pm.

You will receive confirmation of your booking by email or post. Your name will be reserved but tickets will not be sent. If we reach capacity you will be contacted and given the opportunity to go on a waiting list. Due to the limited number of places we do kindly ask that you inform us if you need to cancel your booking. We regret that refunds will not be issued within two weeks of the event unless we are able to fill your place.

We do not have parking facilities at the College but please see the website or call 01865 287275 and we will be happy to provide information on car parking and bus routes into Oxford.
